Effective Date: September, 2026
These Terms & Policies apply to all services provided by BOOKWISE INC to our clients. By signing a service agreement, paying an invoice, or using our services, you agree to these terms. If a signed service agreement conflicts with this page, the signed agreement controls.
1. Our Services
BOOKWISE provides bookkeeping, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and back-office process support for small businesses. The specific services, scope, and fees for each client are set out in a proposal or service agreement.
What we do not provide: BOOKWISE is not a CPA firm. We do not perform audits, reviews, or other attest services, we do not issue opinions on financial statements, and we do not prepare or file tax returns or represent clients before taxing authorities. We provide accurate, organized records that you or your CPA may use for those purposes. Our reports are management-level information and should not be treated as legal, tax, or investment advice.
2. Billing and Payment
- Recurring plans: Monthly service plans are billed in advance on the same date each month, beginning on the date you sign up. Your plan renews automatically each month until canceled under Section 3.
- Project work: Fixed-fee projects are invoiced according to the schedule in your signed agreement, such as a deposit followed by a final invoice.
- Payment methods: We accept major credit and debit cards and ACH bank transfers through our secure payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card or bank account details.
- Invoices: Invoices are sent electronically and are due on the date shown on the invoice, or upon receipt if no date is shown.
- Failed or late payments: If a payment fails, we will notify you and may retry the payment. We may pause services until the balance is paid.
- Taxes: Fees do not include any sales or similar taxes that may apply. Where required, taxes will be added to your invoice.
- Price changes: We may change our prices with at least 30 days’ written notice. Changes take effect at your next billing period.
3. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel a recurring plan at any time by giving us 30 days’ written notice by email to support@bookwisehq.com.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period that ends on or after the 30-day notice date.
- You remain responsible for fees through the effective cancellation date.
- We will provide a final set of records and reports covering the service period, subject to your account being paid in full.
- We may cancel or suspend services with 30 days’ written notice, or immediately for non-payment or a material breach of these terms.
4. Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds at this time. All fees are non-refundable once paid, including fees for partial billing periods or for services you choose not to use. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will review it promptly.
5. Client Responsibilities
To deliver accurate work, we rely on you to:
- Provide complete, accurate, and timely information, records, and account access.
- Respond to questions and requests for documents promptly.
- Review the reports we deliver and tell us about any errors or omissions.
- Keep your own copies of your business records.
Delays or incomplete information on your part may affect timelines and the accuracy of deliverables, and BOOKWISE is not responsible for the results.
6. Confidentiality and Data Security
We treat your financial information as confidential and use it only to provide our services. We do not sell or share your information except with service providers who help us deliver our services (such as accounting software and payment processors), where required by law, or with your permission. Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect and use information.
7. Limitation of Liability
BOOKWISE provides services with reasonable care and professional diligence, but we do not guarantee any particular financial, tax, credit, or funding outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the fees you paid to us for the three (3) months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost business opportunities.
8. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
If you have a question about a charge, please contact us first at info@bookwisehq.com so we can resolve it quickly. We keep records of agreements, invoices, and delivered work, and we may provide them to our payment processor to respond to a dispute.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Franklin County, Ohio, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Policies from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised terms.
