BOOKWISE INC. (“Bookwise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit bookwisehq.com (the “Site”), engage our services, or communicate with us by phone, text message, or email.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:

- Business and financial information you share with us in connection with bookkeeping, accounting, or related services, which may include bank account information, transaction records, payroll data, and other nonpublic personal financial information

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

SMS/Text Messaging Data. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories described above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent — this information will not be shared with any third parties, for any purpose.
4. Financial Information and GLBA Notice
Because Bookwise provides bookkeeping and accounting services, we are considered a “financial institution” for purposes of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the Federal Trade Commission’s Safeguards Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 314). This means:
- We collect nonpublic personal financial information from clients only as necessary to provide our services
- We do not disclose your nonpublic personal financial information to nonaffiliated third parties except as permitted by law, as necessary to service your account, or with your consent
- We maintain a written information security program designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and security of client financial information, consistent with the FTC Safeguards Rule
- Access to client financial information is limited to personnel and service providers who need it to perform their duties
Clients may request a copy of our privacy notice regarding financial information at any time by contacting us using the information in Section 10.
5. Text Messaging (SMS) Terms
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive text messages from Bookwise, the following terms apply:
- Consent. By opting in, you consent to receive SMS text messages from BOOKWISE INC. related to appointment confirmations, scheduling, invoicing, and general customer support. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any service.
- Message and Data Rates. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary depending on your interactions with us.
- Opt-Out. You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and you will no longer receive text messages from us unless you opt in again.
- Help. For assistance, reply HELP to any message, or contact us using the information in Section 10 below.
- Supported Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Cookies, Website Data, and Do Not Track
Our Site may use cookies or similar technologies to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of the Site.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals, as no common industry standard for such signals has been adopted.
7. Data Security and Retention
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, consistent with our obligations under the GLBA Safeguards Rule described in Section 4. We retain client financial and tax-related records for the period required to comply with applicable IRS and state recordkeeping requirements, generally at least seven years following the end of the engagement, unless a longer period is required by law or requested by the client. Other personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

You may:
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us
- Opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP
- Decline to provide certain information, though this may limit our ability to provide services to you
California Residents. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information under California law, including the right to request disclosure of the categories of personal information we collect and the right to request deletion of certain information, subject to applicable exceptions. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10.
